Click but no Pause

Saw the movie "Clicked" starring Adam Sandler with the wife last night. Both of us were surprised that he used pause so infrequently. Its the feature I want. Don't have enough time to do something, pause, do it while everyone is standing still and wow, your efficient. A little too tired to do something, hit pause, take a nap, wake up refreshed. Is it that important to fast-forward through everything? What about taking the batteries out?
